Our colleague Vicente Bultó will referee his 700th match in ACB next Sunday, December 3, in the match that Retabet Bilbao Basket and San Pablo Burgos will play, having Carlos Peruga and Arnau Padrós as partners.
In statements to acb. com, Vicente indicates that “it is a very important number that is difficult and complicated to achieve, but with hard work and dedication at the end can be achieved,”while indicating that he made his debut in “a CAI Zaragoza – Caja San Fernando with Vicente Sanchís. I also remember my first year, which is the most complicated in terms of adaptation. I have very good memories of those moments.
With 25 seasons he thinks that “Liga Endesa is the best league in Europe. Being able to participate in it is an enormous satisfaction, a pride. I have been able to improve in my capacity as referee, transmitting knowledge and, above all, in being able to have the opportunity to be international and represent the Endesa League and Spanish refereeing in Olympic Games, World Cups and Eurobaskets”.
On the future of arbitration in the Liga Endesa, Vicente acknowledges that “a younger generation of people is coming along who are well prepared from the FEB categories. It is always very good to combine the experience with youth. That capacity we may have to cover, teach and mentor the people who are coming from behind is also a task that we must do and it is very important.
To conclude, our colleague states that “if I had to make the decision again to be a referee, I would do it again. It gives many satisfactions and, although it also has difficult moments, satisfactions are above those difficulties. I would encourage everyone to get to know the profession and activity of officiating”.
Without doubt, this is a fairly significant figure and one that will certainly continue to grow in its officiating career.
Congratulations Vicente!!
